About Raymond Savignac & the l’etat de la France poster
French graphic designer Raymond Savignac was one of France’s great poster designers. His recognisable works are characterised by an exuberant use of colour, surreal scenes in a typical French style, always with a sense of humour.
This political propaganda poster was created for the Republican Party during the electoral campaign in 1981. It is the counterpart of another campaign poster titled “Socialism does not work”.
